WGHS Homecoming 2018

Junior William Fortin breaks through the middle to get a big yard gain during the opening minutes of the second half.

Both the Sahuarita Mustangs and Walden Grove Red Wolves are 4-2 and geared up for another game as division play continues.

After a huge homecoming victory over Rio Rico last week, the Red Wolves will travel down to the border to play the Douglas Bulldogs.

Douglas (5-1) had been averaging nearly 45 points per game until last week, when they were blanked by Pueblo, 42-0, taking their first loss of the season. Walden Grove will need to bring the boom on defense and put up big points to earn a victory tonight. Kickoff at 7 p.m.

The Mustangs had the lead going into the final quarter last week, but two late touchdowns from Safford sealed the game for the Bulldogs. Sahuarita will be looking to bounce back tonight against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy.

The Lions (3-3) are coming off a shutout victory over Tanque Verde, and are fueled by a strong running game. Pusch Ridge enters tonight’s contest with 1357 rushing yards and 17 ground scores, compared to just 250 yards and 2 TDs through the air.

Reminder: tonight’s game starts one hour earlier than usual, at 6 p.m., on the north side of Tucson.
