Ruth E. Rust, age 83, of Janesville, WI, and formerly of the Green Valley, AZ area, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 23, 2018 at the Huntington Memory Care in Janesville with her son by her side. She was born Oct. 7, 1935 in Leominster, MA, the daughter of the late Sumner E. & Ada P. (Arbo) Davidson. Ruth married Charles Rust on July 14, 1956 in Massachusetts. He preceded her in death in 2016.
A visitation was held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Whitcomb-Lynch Funeral Home, 21 S. Austin Rd., in Janesville, WI. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Janesville.
Ruth and Charles owned and operated the Hackbarth Hills Golf Center, consisting of a driving range, miniature golf course, and a par 3 course for many years, until retiring to the Green Valley area.
She is survived by her son, Brent (Trisha) Rust; her sister, Faye Allard; her 4 grandchildren, Justin (Alyse) Rust, Robert (Wendy Rose Gould) Slaughter V, Jeffery (Adayla) Slaughter, and Jessica (fiancée, Andrew Foss) Rust; her 2 step-grandchildren, Katie (Steve) Murphy, and Taylor (fiancée, Spencer Warrenburg) Rich; and by her 3 great-grandchildren, Ellie Slaughter, Lincoln and Amelia Rust. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Roxanne, her sisters, Marjorie, Charlotte and Betty, and her brother, Sumner E. Davidson Jr.
