Leaves sprouted this week on the Verizon cell tower on the frontage road east of I-19 and north of Duval Mine Road in Sahuarita. The tower, disguised as a eucalyptus tree, went up last year but didn't get its leaves until this week, with the help of workers from High Desert Communications in Mesa. That's Jesse Brown, left, and Nigel Jones in the bucket.
Back on the ground, Dylan Gauman, left, attaches faux foliage for another trip. The cell tower was proposed in 2016 and ultimately approved in October 2017, after a year of objections by residents in the nearby Valle Verde del Norte neighborhood.
