OK, I know you’ve heard this before but it is worth repeating and true...“You Don’t Shovel Sunshine!”

When I first came to Green Valley in 1966, 75 percent of our community left in the summer, only to return when the snow flurries fell on their midwestern ramblers and A-frames. Hence, you now know where the “Snow Birds” term came from.

An enduring name to this day. Well, I for one Love Them!!! Snow Birds have given our community so much to be thankful for.

But first and foremost, our home values and steady growth have been such a great blessing that needs to be recognized. And think about this: Today’s mortgage rates are lower than they were in 1966, when they were between 5.5 and 6 percent!

Next time (when fall arrives) you feel burdened in any way due to extra-long lines at the store, extra traffic on the road and doctors who are booked up, Stop!

Now, take a breath and say thank you for adding strength to this beautiful Valley, our Green Valley.

Hail, Hail, The Snow Bird!
