Summer Plan

Summer is here and if you’re like most people you’ll probably be spending more time inside to escape the heat. So, if you don’t have an estate plan, now is the perfect time to stay inside and put your thoughts together.

With a few easy steps you can make sure your wishes are put into the proper legal format to protect you while you’re living and ensure your estate is distributed as you want.

Who will act on your behalf?

Decide who you want to act for you if you cannot, both financially and for health care. Talk with those individuals to be sure they know what’s involved and that they’re willing to act for you. Decide who you want to receive your estate and consider a contingency plan in case circumstances change.

What’s in an estate plan?

The documents generally included in a comprehensive estate plan are a Last Will and Testament, Durable Financial Power of Attorney, Health Care Power of Attorney, Mental Health Care Power of Attorney, Living Will, HIPAA Authorization and Waiver, and Final Disposition Instructions.

Get peace of mind.

You never know when you might need these documents but being prepared will give you and your loved ones peace of mind. You’ll be relieved to take the first step to get this done and it’ll be so easy you’ll wonder why you put it off for so long!

For preparation of these and other estate documents, contact Janie Stover, Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer (AZCLDP) at (520) 240-6723.
